“Чому ви вважаєте за неймовірне, що Бог воскрешає померлих?”
“Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?”
19. Відповів же Ісус і сказав їм: Поправді, поправді кажу вам: Син нічого робити не може Сам від Себе, тільки те, що Він бачить, що робить Отець; бо що робить Він, те так само й Син робить.
21. Бо як мертвих Отець воскрешає й оживлює, так і Син, кого хоче, оживлює.
24. Поправді, поправді кажу вам: Хто слухає слова Мого, і вірує в Того, Хто послав Мене, життя вічне той має, і на суд не приходить, але перейшов він від смерти в життя.
25. Поправді, поправді кажу вам: Наступає година, і тепер уже є, коли голос Божого Сина почують померлі, а ті, що почують, оживуть.
26. Бо як має Отець життя Сам у Собі, так і Синові дав життя мати в Самому Собі.
27. І Він дав Йому силу чинити і суд, бо Він Людський Син.
28. Не дивуйтесь цьому, бо надходить година, коли всі, хто в гробах, Його голос почують,
29. і повиходять ті, що чинили добро, на воскресення життя, а котрі зло чинили, на воскресення Суду.
19. Then answered Jesus and said unto them,
21. For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
24. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
25. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
26. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
27. And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
28. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29. And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life.

23 А всіх Енохових днів було три сотні літ і шістдесят і п'ять літ.
24 І ходив із Богом Енох, і не стало його, бо забрав його Бог.
23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
5 Вірою Енох був перенесений на небо, щоб не бачити смерти; і його не знайшли, бо Бог переніс його. Бо раніш, як його перенесено, він був засвідчений, що Богові він догодив.
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
13 Тоді прибуває Ісус із Галілеї понад Йордан до Івана, щоб христитись від нього.
14 Але перешкоджав він Йому й говорив: Я повинен христитись від Тебе, і чи Тобі йти до мене?
15 А Ісус відповів і сказав йому: Допусти це тепер, бо так годиться нам виповнити усю правду. Тоді допустив він Його.
16 І охристившись Ісус, зараз вийшов із води. І ось небо розкрилось, і побачив Іван Духа Божого, що спускався, як голуб, і сходив на Нього.
17 І ось голос почувся із неба: Це Син Мій Улюблений, що Його Я вподобав!
13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him.
14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?
15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
1 Був же хворий один, Лазар у Віфанії, із села Марії й сестри її Марти.
2 А Марія, що брат її Лазар був хворий, була та, що помазала Господа миром, і волоссям своїм Йому ноги обтерла.
3 Тоді сестри послали до Нього, говорячи: Ось нездужає, Господи, той, що кохаєш його!...
4 Як почув же Ісус, то промовив: Не на смерть ця недуга, а на Божу славу, щоб Син Божий прославився нею.
5 А Ісус любив Марту, і сестру її, і Лазаря.
6 А коли Він почув, що нездужає той, то зостався два дні на тім місці, де був.
7 Після ж того говорить до учнів: Ходімо знову в Юдею.
8 Йому учні сказали: Учителю, таж допіру юдеї хотіли камінням побити Тебе, а Ти знов туди підеш?
9 Ісус відповів: Хіба дня не дванадцять годин? Як хто ходить за дня, не спіткнеться, цьогосвітнє бо світло він бачить.
10 А хто ходить нічної пори, той спіткнеться, бо немає в нім світла.
11 Оце Він сказав, а по тому говорить до них: Друг наш Лазар заснув, та піду розбудити Його.
15 І Я тішусь за вас, що там Я не був, щоб повірили ви. Та ходімо до нього.
17 Як прибув же Ісус, то знайшов, що чотири вже дні той у гробі.
20 Тоді Марта, почувши, що надходить Ісус, побігла зустріти Його.
21 І Марта сказала Ісусові: Коли б, Господи, був Ти отут, то не вмер би мій брат...
22 Та й тепер, знаю я, що чого тільки в Бога попросиш, то дасть Тобі Бог!
23 Промовляє до неї Ісус: Воскресне твій брат!
24 Відказує Марта Йому: Знаю, що в воскресення останнього дня він воскресне.
25 Промовив до неї Ісус: Я воскресення й життя. Хто вірує в Мене, хоч і вмре, буде жити.
26 І кожен, хто живе та хто вірує в Мене, повіки не вмре. Чи ти віруєш в це?
27 Вона каже Йому: Так, Господи! Я вірую, що Ти Христос, Син Божий, що має прийти на цей світ.
32 Як Марія ж прийшла туди, де був Ісус, і Його вгледіла, то припала до ніг Йому та й говорила до Нього: Коли б, Господи, був Ти отут, то не вмер би мій брат!
33 А Ісус, як побачив, що плаче вона, і плачуть юдеї, що з нею прийшли, то в дусі розжалобився та й зворушився Сам,
34 і сказав: Де його ви поклали? Говорять Йому: Іди, Господи, та подивися!
38 Ісус же розжалобивсь знову в Собі, і до гробу прийшов. Була ж то печера, і камінь на ній налягав.
39 Промовляє Ісус: Відваліть цього каменя!
40 Ісус каже до неї: Чи тобі не казав Я, що як будеш ти вірувати, славу Божу побачиш?
41 І зняли тоді каменя. А Ісус ізвів очі до неба й промовив: Отче, дяку приношу Тобі, що Мене Ти почув.
42 Та Я знаю, що Ти завжди почуєш Мене, але ради народу, що довкола стоїть, Я сказав, щоб увірували, що послав Ти Мене.
43 І, промовивши це, Він скричав гучним голосом: Лазарю, вийди сюди!
44 І вийшов померлий, по руках і ногах обв'язаний пасами, а обличчя у нього було перев'язане хусткою... Ісус каже до них: Розв'яжіть його та й пустіть, щоб ходив...
1 Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
2 (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
3 Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
6 When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.
7 Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judæa again.
8 His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
9 Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
10 But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.
11 These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.
17 Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.
20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him:
21 Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
22 But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,
34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
38 Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
39 Jesus said, Take ye away the stone.
40 Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
42 And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
43 And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.
1 По мові оцій Ісус очі Свої звів до неба й промовив: Прийшла, Отче, година, прослав Сина Свого, щоб і Син Твій прославив Тебе,
2 бо Ти дав Йому владу над тілом усяким, щоб Він дав життя вічне всім їм, яких дав Ти Йому.
3 Життя ж вічне це те, щоб пізнали Тебе, єдиного Бога правдивого, та Ісуса Христа, що послав Ти Його.
1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
11 А це свідчення, що Бог життя вічне нам дав, а життя це у Сині Його.
12 Хто має Сина, той має життя; хто не має Сина Божого, той не має життя.
13 Оце написав я до вас, що віруєте в Ім'я Божого Сина, щоб ви знали, що ви віруючи в Ім'я Божого Сина, маєте вічне життя.
20 Ми знаємо, що Син Божий прийшов, і розум нам дав, щоб пізнати Правдивого, і щоб бути в правдивому Сині Його, Ісусі Христі. Він Бог правдивий і вічне життя!
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
Батько. Вічне Життя; єдиний Розум; божественний Принцип, звичайно називаний
«Богом».
Father. Eternal Life; the one Mind; the divine Principle, commonly called God.
Всебуття всеохоплюючого Духу
Св. Писання стверджує, що Бог є Все-в-усьому. З цього випливає, що ніщо не має ні реальності, ні існування, окрім божественного Розуму та Його ідей. Св. Писання також проголошує, що Бог є Дух. Тому в Духові все є гармонічним й не може бути ніякого розладу; усе є Життя, а смерті немає. Все у Божому всесвіті виражає тільки Його Одного.
The Scriptures imply that God is All-in-all. From this it follows that nothing possesses reality nor existence except the divine Mind and His ideas. The Scriptures also declare that God is Spirit. Therefore in Spirit all is harmony, and there can be no discord; all is Life, and there is no death. Everything in God's universe expresses Him.
Якби сприйняття Еноха обмежувалося показаннями його матеріальних почуттів, він не зміг би ні «ходити з Богом», не бути взятим у життя вічне.
If Enoch's perception had been confined to the evidence before his material senses, he could never have "walked with God," nor been guided into the demonstration of life eternal.
Неможливого не буває ніколи.
Impossibilities never occur.
Кожний крок убік доброти віддаляє від матеріальності й наближує до Бога, Духа. Матеріальні теорії почасти паралізують це тяжіння до нескінченного і вічного добра зворотним тяжінням до кінцевого, тимчасового та негармонійного.
Every step towards goodness is a departure from materiality, and is a tendency towards God, Spirit. Material theories partially paralyze this attraction towards infinite and eternal good by an opposite attraction towards the finite, temporary, and discordant.
Дух перетворює
Біблія вчить, як перетворювати тіло відновленням Духа. Відніміть духовний зміст Св. Писання, і ця книга так само не зможе допомогти смертним, як місячне світло не може розтопити лід на річці. Помилка всіх часів — проповідування без практичного застосування до зцілення.
The Bible teaches transformation of the body by the renewal of Spirit. Take away the spiritual signification of Scripture, and that compilation can do no more for mortals than can moonbeams to melt a river of ice. The error of the ages is preaching without practice.
Мудре керівництво
Авторка цього Підручника зціляла від невиліковних органічних хвороб і повертала вмираючих до життя і здоров’я розумінням того, що Бог — єдине Життя. Гріх вірити, що дещо може пересилити всемогутнє і вічне Життя, а це Життя необхідно демонструвати розумінням того, що смерті не існує, а також і іншими проявами благодаті Духа. Однак ми повинні почати з більш простих проявів управління, і чим скоріше ми почнемо, тим краще. Досягнення кінцевої прояви вимагає часу. Коли ми йдемо, ми направляємося зором. The author has healed hopeless organic disease, and raised the dying to life and health through the understanding of God as the only Life. It is a sin to believe that aught can overpower omnipotent and eternal Life, and this Life must be brought to light by the understanding that there is no death, as well as by other graces of Spirit. We must begin, however, with the more simple demonstrations of control, and the sooner we begin the better. The final demonstration takes time for its accomplishment. When walking, we are guided by the eye. We look before our feet, and if we are wise, we look beyond a single step in the line of spiritual advancement.
Розумно присвятити своє життя
Ми повинні присвятити наше життя не «невідомому Богу», якого ми, «не знаючи, шануємо», а вічному будівельникові, нескінченному Батькові, Життю, якому смертне почуття не може ушкодити, а смертне вірування не може знищити. Ми повинні усвідомити здатність ментальної сили протистояти помилковим людським уявленням і заміняти їх тим життям, яке духовне, а не матеріальне.
We should consecrate existence, not "to the unknown God" whom we "ignorantly worship," but to the eternal builder, the everlasting Father, to the Life which mortal sense cannot impair nor mortal belief destroy. We must realize the ability of mental might to offset human misconceptions and to replace them with the life which is spiritual, not material.
Якщо Ісус розбудив Лазаря, перервавши його мрію-сон, ілюзію смерті, то це довело, що Христос здатний виправити неправильне почуття. Хто вирішиться засумніватися в неперевершеній силі й повній готовності божественного Розуму навіки зберігати людину досконалою й керувати всіма її функціями? Ісус сказав: «Зруйнуйте храм цей [тіло] і Я [Розум] у три дні споруджу його»; і він зробив це, щоби вселити впевненість в утомлене людство.
Невичерпна божественна Любов
Чи не буде свого роду невір’ям думати, що настільки велика справа Месії, була зроблена для нього самого або для Бога, Який не має потреби в допомозі Ісуса, щоби зберегти вічну гармонію? Смертні, ті хто потребує цієї допомоги, й Ісус указав їм шлях.
Божественна Любов завжди задовольняла й завжди буде задовольняти всякий людський нестаток. Неправильно думати, що Ісус відкривав божественну зцілювальну силу тільки для деяких вибраних або на обмежений період часу, тому що божественна Любов щогодини дарує всі блага всьому людству.
Чудо благодаті не є дивом для Любові.
If Jesus awakened Lazarus from the dream, illusion, of death, this proved that the Christ could improve on a false sense. Who dares to doubt this consummate test of the power and willingness of divine Mind to hold man forever intact in his perfect state, and to govern man's entire action? Jesus said: "Destroy this temple [body], and in three days I [Mind] will raise it up;" and he did this for tired humanity's reassurance.
Is it not a species of infidelity to believe that so great a work as the Messiah's was done for himself or for God, who needed no help from Jesus' example to preserve the eternal harmony? But mortals did need this help, and Jesus pointed the way for them. Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need. It is not well to imagine that Jesus demonstrated the divine power to heal only for a select number or for a limited period of time, since to all mankind and in every hour, divine Love supplies all good.
The miracle of grace is no miracle to Love.
Через каяття, духовне хрещення і відродження смертні відкидають свої матеріальні вірування й порочну індивідуальність. Це тільки справа часу, коли «усі самі будуть знати Мене [Бога], від малого до велика». Заперечення претензій матерії - це великий крок до радощів Духа, до людської свободи і остаточної перемоги над тілом.
Through repentance, spiritual baptism, and regeneration, mortals put off their material beliefs and false individuality. It is only a question of time when "they shall all know Me [God], from the least of them unto the greatest." Denial of the claims of matter is a great step towards the joys of Spirit, towards human freedom and the final triumph over the body.
Терпіння й остаточна досконалість
Божественна вимога: «Будьте досконалі», — наукова, і необхідні людські кроки, що ведуть до досконалості. Послідовні ті, хто, пильнуючи й молячись, «побіжать, і не втомляться, підуть, і не ослабнуть», — ті, хто скоро досягнуть успіху в добрі й утримають досягнуте або ті, хто просуваються повільно, але не падають духом. Бог вимагає досконалості, але не раніше, чим буде закінчена боротьба між Духом і плоттю і здобута перемога. Неправильно перестати їсти, пити або одягатися, поки крок за кроком, не будуть досягнуті духовні реалії існування. Коли ми терпляче чекаємо Бога й чесно шукаємо Істину, Бог указує нам шлях. Individuals are consistent who, watching and praying, can "run, and not be weary; ... walk, and not faint," who gain good rapidly and hold their position, or attain slowly and yield not to discouragement. God requires perfection, but not until the battle between Spirit and flesh is fought and the victory won. To stop eating, drinking, or being clothed materially before the spiritual facts of existence are gained step by step, is not legitimate. When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path. Imperfect mortals grasp the ultimate of spiritual perfection slowly; but to begin aright and to continue the strife of demonstrating the great problem of being, is doing much.
Народження, занепад і смерть походять від матеріального, а не від духовного поняття про речі, тому, що в останньому Життя не складається з того, чим харчується людина. Матерія не може змінити вічного факту, що людина існує тому, що існує Бог. Ніщо не нове для нескінченного Розуму.
Перше навіювання зла
У Науці Розум не створює матерії, так само як і матерія не створює розуму. Жоден смертний розум не має ні сили, ні прав, ні мудрості творити або руйнувати. Усе перебуває під керуванням єдиного Розуму, самого Бога.
Birth, decay, and death arise from the material sense of things, not from the spiritual, for in the latter Life consisteth not of the things which a man eateth. Matter cannot change the eternal fact that man exists because God exists. Nothing is new to the infinite Mind.
In Science, Mind neither produces matter nor does matter produce mind. No mortal mind has the might or right or wisdom to create or to destroy. All is under the control of the one Mind, even God.
Прозріння
Життя — реальне, а смерть — це ілюзія. Розкриття фактів Душі за прикладом Ісуса Христа перетворює похмурі видіння матеріального почуття в гармонію й безсмертя. Привілей людини в цю піднесену годину — довести слова нашого Вчителя: «Хто дотримується слова мого, той не побачить смерті повік». Звільнити думку від фіктивних сподівань і від свідчень матерії, щоби виявилися духовні факти буття, — от наша превелика мета; досягши її, ми зметемо помилкове й дамо місце реальному. І так ми зможемо спорудити в істині храм, або тіло, «якого архітектор, будівельник і творець Бог».
Life is real, and death is the illusion. A demonstration of the facts of Soul in Jesus' way resolves the dark visions of material sense into harmony and immortality. Man's privilege at this supreme moment is to prove the words of our Master: "If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death." To divest thought of false trusts and material evidences in order that the spiritual facts of being may appear, — this is the great attainment by means of which we shall sweep away the false and give place to the true. Thus we may establish in truth the temple, or body, "whose builder and maker is God."
... людина — є ідея Бога; людина створена не матеріально, а духовно, і не піддається загниванню та поверненню в порох.
Життя незалежне від матерії, воно завжди було й буде таким, тому що Життя є Бог.
